Yabase Street
Yabase Street is an old street between Kurayoshi, the center of ancient Houki Country, and Yabese, which dates back to the Nara era. Roads of about 200 years ago still remain in this street - it is designated as a national Yumekaido model area and has a nostalgic atmosphere.

Street with old walls
This street, where only the fire protection walls of the geisha girl station remain, has crisscross roads and other remains from Jinyamachi (a town which was the administrative headquarters of Tokugawa shogunate in the Edo period).

Hiroseya
The oldest smithy in Kurayoshi with the tradition of Inakokisenba (grain thresher ). The sound of hammers making agricultural tools and knives can still be heard.

Former Ogawa Sake Brewery, Ogawa residence
An old house that used to be a brewery. The main house built in the Meiji period has low eaves typical of an ordinary  townhouse. The eastern half of the house contains the shop and the western half is the residential part. The shop area consists of an earth floor part with a double-height ceiling and a wooden floor part for the office, east of which is a reception room of a western-style house added in the Taisho period.

Pump Cabin of the reservoir for the former Kurayoshi town
Built in 1931, the Pump Cabin of the reservoir pumped water from 1932 to March 1990 to the former Kurayoshi town. This is so decorated that one can hardly imagine at first sight that this is a pump cabin.

Shubutsu-an
About 800 Buddha statues are displayed here. The premises are full of greenery  with a tea house made of sake barrels and tachigibutsu (Buddhist images carved on a living tree).
